Hello! I’m Evie! I’m both a domestic abuse survivor and qualified domestic abuse specialist, freelance writer and the founder of Peaks of Colour.
I have over 10 years experience supporting and advocating for Black & queer survivors with intersecting experiences of gendered and racialised trauma, and have worked extensively with services committed to ensuring their practice is anti-racist and LGBT+ inclusive.
In 2021 I left the VAWG sector after becoming disillusioned, disenfranchised and burnt out. Now, I’m interested in how nature can offer survivors of colour a radical, hopeful and imaginative space for healing and justice.
As a freelance writer I'm passionate about the liberating form of writing as healing and resistance. Through my writing I strive to platform the voices and stories of those most marginalised from the mainstream.
I'm also the founder of Peaks of Colour, a Peak District-based nature-for-healing club by and for people of colour.
